Tulane University is Hiring a Director of Communications Near Orleans, LA

Manages all programs and activities related to communication at Newcomb College Institute. Actively promotes NCI to internal and external communities, the general press, the higher education community, and the women's community.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in gender and communication.

  • Expertise in crafting messages and communications strategies targeting different constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and community members.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills.

  • Creativity, entrepreneurial skills, follow-through ability, attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Expertise in software in new social media, Microsoft Office suite, and web software.


Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field

  • At least three years of experience working in digital media, social media, public relations, marketing, journalism, or communications


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the women's movement, knowledge of women'™s studies, and expertise on women and the media

  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
