Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a well established New Orleans construction company in search of an Accounting & Payroll Coordinator. The Accounting & Payroll Coordinator will be an integral part of our finance department, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and providing essential support in accounting functions. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic construction environment.Responsibilities:Payroll Processing:Process weekly payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations in all payroll activities.Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by project contracts.Maintain accurate records of payroll adjustments and special payments.Payroll Administration:Serve as the secondary point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries and timekeeping systems.Manage the setup of new employees in the payroll system and ensure accurate data entry.Handle union dues processing and maintain related records.Monitor and track sick leave accruals, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.Accounting Support:Assist with various accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing processes.Contribute to the maintenance of accurate financial records and documentation.Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Controller or finance management.
