National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide.

National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 757-200, 747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.

Job Title : Heavy Check Material Coordinator

Location : Orlando, FL

Department : Materials

Reports To : Senior Director of Materials

FLSA Status : Exempt

Summary : Responsible for the cost-effective efficient procurement and planning of aircraft spares that meet the requirements of the maintenance organization and FAA regulations for all company-owned entities.

Procures services or materials as required to meet the requirements of all company guidelines and ensure inventory levels are accurate, maintained at the proper levels and secure.

Essential Functions :

  • Purchases, repairs, and stores spare parts in accordance with the procedures defined in National Airlines’ General Maintenance Manual.
  • Purchasing, borrowing parts / materials for AOG or critical aircraft at or below fair market value.
  • Identifies trends in material usage to continually assess safety stock levels.
  • Ships, forwards, and routes component parts to outstations when required.
  • Works as a liaison between Planning and Maintenance to identify and source material as it relates to heavy check maintenance requirements.
  • Communicates daily with the Heavy Maintenance Material Reps to facilitate real time support of heavy maintenance operations.
  • Ensures that parts used by National Airlines are on the approved maintenance.
  • Provides list and / or notifies the Quality Assurance Department to update.
  • Tracks loans / borrowed items to ensure they are returned to the appropriate provider in a timely manner to minimize cost.
  • Provides detailed turnover throughout shift to the Materials Management.
  • Remains engaged with the National Heavy Maintenance team to identify and source unscheduled material requirements in real-time.
  • Inputs data into National Airlines’ computerized inventory control program.
  • Ensures that all company policies / procedures per the GMM and FAA Regulations are adhered.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience :

  • College degree in Supply Chain Management, Aviation, or related fields; 3-5 years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2 years of aircrafts parts inventory control experience
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Valid Passport for international travel without limitations
  • Willing to travel internationally for extended periods of time; 2-3 months at a time.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards.
  • Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Must pass a background check which includes finger printing and criminal history records check (CHRC)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Ability to use technical manuals, good mechanical aptitude and solve problems effectively.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with strong work ethics

Work Environment :

  • Office / Stockroom
  • Work shifts may vary Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Effort :

Heavy physical activity is required by handling objects up to 70 pounds occasionally and / or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Medium to Heavy).

Travel / Other Requirements :

International travel and remain 2-3 months at assigned work location
