Impact Christian Schools is Hiring a Teacher (K4-4) Near Oregon, WI

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time or Part-Time Kindergarten through 8th Grade Teacher who is committed to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our school in Oregon, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative lesson plans, fostering a love for learning, and integrating Christian values into the curriculum for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Work with parents and school board to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans for students in Kindergarten through 4th Grade. (Possibly grades 5-8 as well, depending on enrollment).
    • Tailor curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students while aligning with educational standards.
    • Plan school programs at least twice a year to showcase student work.
    • Plan appropriate field trips during the school year.
  1. Classroom Management:
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and collaboration.
    • Implement effective behavior management strategies and create a respectful learning environment.
    • Arrange classroom for small group and large group instruction.
    • Plan for snack, read aloud and recess time with co-teachers.
    • Plan daily Opening and Closing Time for all students.
    • Encourage home reading through monthly Reading Logs and incentives.
  1. Subject Expertise:
    • Assess students’ beginning of the year performance levels for Math, Reading, and Writing
    • Provide instruction in various subjects, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for students.
    • Plan units and lessons for students assigned to you in the areas of Language Arts (Reading, writing, phonics, spelling, handwriting), and Mathematics.
  1. Biblical Worldview:
    • Infuse Christian values and principles into daily lessons and activities.
    • Create opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith through age-appropriate discussions and activities.
    • Choose Monthly Scripture Memory passages.
  2. Assessment and Feedback:
    • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback with parents.
    • Implement various assessment tools to measure understanding and skill development.
  3. Parent Communication:
    • Maintain open and transparent communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
    • Attend parent-teacher conferences at least once per year to address any concerns or questions, and to discuss progress.
    • Communicate with parents via words and pictures what is happening at school.
  4. Professional Development:
    • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a supportive educational community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University
  • Experience teaching in a Kindergarten through 8th Grade setting.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to integrating Christian values into education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and innovative approach to lesson planning.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
