Premier Skilled Nursing -

Premier Skilled Nursing Facility , located in Orange County, New York , has immediate opening for an enthusiastic and energetic Food Service Director .

The Food Service Director (FSD) is responsible for managing the food service operation of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The FSD must meet all regulatory requirements, health standards, and maintain quality food service within budget.

The FSD must consistently endeavor to deliver nutritious food, expert management, and superior service to our clients and staff.

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

  • Overseeing food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food;
  • Knowledge of regulating compliance and its application to food service operations;
  • Oversight and planning of purchasing and inventory;
  • Hiring Staff and contractors for quality nutritional services;
  • Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas;
  • Ensure employee’s compliance with health and food safety standards and regulations;
  • Investigating and resolving complaints regarding food quality or service;

Qualifications :

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in the long-term care facility.
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.

  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dietary service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
  • 5 years minimum experience in healthcare (food and nutrition).
  • Must be CDM certified.
  • A current ServSafe certification.

There may be repetitive motions of the wrists and hands, extended periods of stationary activity and other conditions common to a culinary position.
