Scooters Coffee is Hiring an IT Business Analyst Near Omaha, NE

Location 

This position is considered Office-First. An office-first employee is an employee within the Greater Omaha Metropolitan Area whose default work location is a designated office and has office presence at least four days per week, specifically, Monday through Thursday. On office-first employee may at times perform work outside of a designated office location based on personal or professional need, at the discretion of their supervisor. Scooter’s Coffee is headquartered in Omaha, NE. The successful candidate lives in Omaha, NE. Relocation is not available for this role.

Description 

The IT Business Analyst will serve as a member of a highly collaborative team to deliver business- and customer-facing software solutions. This role will work with internal teammates to clearly define business needs, recommend innovative solutions, and convey those requirements to internal teams or external vendors. You will also facilitate and coordinate gathering details for user stories, with the ability to work with end users as well as other teams, business teams, and external vendors. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Gather and perform analysis of business and user requirements.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the users our product supports and of our product.
  • Collaborate with internal business teammates to understand and share product vision and goals.
  • Gather requirements through various methods, which may include customer interviews, questionnaires, surveys, workflow and process analysis, observation, and other methods, distinguishing user requests from user needs.
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and delivery of products and services through coordination of efforts between internal teammates and external vendors.
  • Develop concise, effective user stories to initiate the creation of configuration of features to create an envisioned system or to coordinate with third party vendors. Participate throughout the development process, assisting in the explanation of user stories and identification of system dependencies to ensure requirements are met. 
  • Define precise and accurate user story acceptance criteria to be used by developers, quality analysts, and product owners to ensure the product owners’ intent is effectively captured.
  • Develop test cases and/or scripts for accurate acceptance testing; complete testing for a quality product.
  • Arrange and perform user acceptance testing or customer reviews.
  • Support business applications in production and/or coordinate with external vendors.
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, product owners, and design team during application changes and validate changes to meet business needs and goals.
  • Write or review supporting documentation for the software, such as release notes, help documentation, articles, and features.
  • Actively engage in all aspects of agility, including planning, retrospectives, product demonstrations, and daily stand-ups.
  • Recommend internal process improvements. 

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years’ Business Analyst experience.
  • Background in software design lifecycle, project management, and business analyst best practices.
  • Ability to apply a proactive, solution-oriented approach to relationship management and business problems.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and act on it.
  • Skill in creating exceptional user stories through excellent listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and application of agile methodology.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, acting with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of decomposing product needs to agile user stories.
  • Operate with logic, efficiency, adaptability, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capacity to flex and work concurrently on multiple projects.
  • Experience working with SaaS providers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Analysis, Business Administration, MIS, or related fields.
