Mazza Mechanical Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Olean, NY. As a multi-state Commercial – Industrial Mechanical Construction and Service Contractor, we have grown significantly and now require a supervising member for our accounting team. Responsibilities

• Assist CFO in preparing monthly and annual financial reports and statements for the executive team to ensure compliance with various statutory requirements, generally accepted accounting principles, and established policies and procedures.
• Manage and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the collection process.
• Coordinate monthly and annual accounting closings.
• Reconcile general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost on a monthly basis.
• Provide technical accounting support to operations and sales staff with management of service and project contracts.
• Assist CFO with annual business insurance renewals.
• Assist with the development, review, and updating of accounting policies, procedures, checklists, and related documentation concerning assigned functions and responsibilities.
• Maintain internal control safeguards as related to project financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience in the Construction Industry is preferred.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista or other similar ERP accounting software.
• Possession of professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
• Ability to adhere to a high level of attention to detail.
• Well organized, proactive, must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
• Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial, and employee matters.
• Exceptional understanding of English, both written and verbal required; ability to communicate in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner with employees, clients, vendors, and business contacts.
• Ability to maintain open, direct, positive, and objective lines of communication with management and all accounting personnel.
• Ability to be self-directed in a team-oriented environment.
• Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, and occasional walking and standing.
• Position requires light to moderate work with 20 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
• Position requires frequent use of a computer, reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
