Carlisle Fluid Technologies is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager Near Oakdale, MN

Summary

Provides continuous improvement (CI) leadership through the participation and support of CI activities and Kaizen events. This position is focused on continuous improvement through automation processes in CFT facilities worldwide. Responsibilities involve developing, coding, modeling, and evaluating automated machinery and systems to perform specific tasks in manufacturing, warehousing, and machine shops. From conception to the prototype, this position will work with automated equipment and be responsible for offering extensive documentation, including guidelines for design, to facilitate product manufacturing and implementation.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and promote CI activities and Kaizen events focusing on automation for all sites.
  • Design automation processes for manufacturing, warehouse, and machine shop applications using the latest in robotics, software, PLC, controls, measurement, and automation technologies.
  • Debug and test various automation systems to determine the best solution to complete tasks in production of CFT products.
  • Promote and grow the CI culture by identifying and mentoring potential automation leaders throughout the organization.
  • Identify resources and help site leaders manage maintenance of automated systems installed at each site.
  • Lead teams of manufacturing and engineering professionals to develop automated systems and solutions.
  • Create reports outlining new automation ideas, continuing machine and software upkeep best practices, test results, and operation of automation systems installed at sites.
  • Participate in the CI AIP team and steering committee.
  • Train all users in the use and operation of automated systems throughout the sites.
  • Foster a culture of lean thinking and processes throughout the facilities.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualification

  • BS in an engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in automation for manufacturing and CNC machining operations
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the team.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages and automation software.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule with expected overtime.
  • Display a positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Perform specific functions with little or no supervision.
  • Evaluate and solve automation problems creatively with critical deadlines.
  • Adept to interpreting written material and technical manuals.
  • Display high personal standards and lead by example.

Preferred Qualification

  • Certifications in ISA, CAP or CCST

Travel

  • Travel up to 50% may be required at times.
