ERM is hiring an EHS Specialist to support client facilities in Grand Rapids, MI . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance with applicable regulations and existing company standards and contributing to an environment where employee health and safety is preserved.
This is a full-time (40 hours / week) role, limited term with a duration of 3 months , extendable.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
EHS Program review and support.
Observations and working with team and senior leaders to identify gaps and incorporate best practices.
Ensuring conformance and adherence to EHS standards.
Incident investigations and corrective actions as related to incidents, near misses, and recordable injuries.
Overseeing the lockout tagout, , electrical safety, fall protection, confined spaces, risk assessments and hob hazardous analyses, , and hot work programs among other health and safety programs
Communicating with agencies / stakeholders
Developing, reviewing, and / or updating health and safety documentation such as SOPs, JHAs, and safety plans
Overseeing the successful implementation of corporate safety programs
Participating in the Emergency Response Team.
Coordinating with other departments (e.g., engineering, maintenance) on their due dates of assigned activities.
Participating / leading meetings to support ongoing compliance and license requirements.
Writing and submitting status update reports, and other communication filings.
Supporting in other on-site inspections with regulatory agencies.
Conduct monthly stormwater inspections, SPCC inspections, updating air emission inventory, and other environmental-related tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS :
BS in EHS, safety, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
Experience with Machine Guarding, High Hazard Work Activity, Confined Space, LOTO, and Fall Protection
Familiarity with federal / state health and safety regulations.
Strong MS Office computer skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
