This class is distinguished from the Management Analyst II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series. This class is typically used as a training class requiring only limited related work experience.Management Analyst II: This is the full journey level class within the Management Analyst series. Employees in this class are distinguished from the Management Analyst I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit assigned.

ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS--Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: The following are examples of essential duties and responsibilities and are not intended to represent the full range of functions assigned to this position.Typical duties may include: Participate in assigned administrative support functions, including the assigned budget and various specialized department programs.Participate in the development and implementation of operational and administrative programs, policies, and procedures.Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budget(s)Maintain and monitor appropriate budgeting controls.Collect, compile, and analyze information from a variety of sources on specialized topics related to assigned department and programs.Prepare clear and concise reports which present and interpret data, identify alternatives as appropriate, and make and justify recommendations.Assist in the drafting and implementation of department policies and procedures.Serve as a liaison with public and private organizations, community groups and other related organizations.Review and respond to complaints and questions from the general public relating to assigned area of responsibility, review problems and recommend corrective actions, and prepare summary reports as required.Participate in special projects, including research and development of new programs and services, budget analysis and preparation, and feasibility analyses.Prepare and present reports and participate in a variety of department operationsPrepare comprehensive technical records and reports pertaining to assigned area of responsibility.Conduct research and comprehensive data collection efforts to support analysis.Provide training in a variety of areas to department and City staff as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
WORKING CONDITIONSEssential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: Physical Skills: Able to use standard office equipment, including a computer; sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, and maintain sustained posture in a seated or standing position for prolonged periods of time; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person, over the telephone, and to make public presentations; lift and carry up to 5lbs of files, and materials. Work Environment: Mobility to work in a typical office and/or field setting. Ability to: Travel to different sites and locations; drive safely to different sites and locations; maintain a safe driving record; work protracted and irregular hours and evening meetings or off shift work for meeting attendance or participation in specific projects or programs; available for evening meetings.SELECTION PROCESSIt is important to complete all required application materials, including the supplemental questionnaire and any required additional documents.
