The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame seeks a Visitor Services Lead for the new museum facility opening in late October 2023. The Raclin Murphy is positioned at the entrance to the storied campus of the University and is intended to welcome audiences of all backgrounds from across the campus and community, and around the world.
The Museum seeks an experienced Visitor Services Lead to oversee and realize a welcoming, inclusive and safe visitor experience for all. This important professional will serve as an ambassador for the Museum, and by extension, the University. This position will occupy and run the Welcome Desk in the grand atrium inside the Museum entrance, welcome all visitors and liaise with the Museum's Education, Membership and Retail teams and partners. They will also be in constant conversation with Museum Security and Housekeeping. This position will be essential in the development of policies and procedures for museum use by all outside groups. This position will supervise the Visitor Services Associate. This position serves as the primary contact for requests to the Museum's public spaces and facilitates the approved events.
Offer guidance and suggestions on Museum collections and exhibitions, uphold Museum policies and procedures, understand and implement safety measures in accordance with Notre Dame policies.
Staffing the welcome desk during all public hours (Tuesday- Sunday). Engaging and welcoming all visitors with dignity and respect. This position serves as the primary contact for requests to the Museum's public spaces and facilitates the approved events.
Museum Public Hours:
Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 10 am - 5 pm
Thursday 10 am - 7 pm
Saturday/Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm
Minimum Qualifications:

• College degree required in management, communications, museum studies, fine arts or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-3 Years experience in a leadership position.
• Evidence of excellent communication skills (verbal and written) needed.
