Optometric practice with the independent doctor of optometry at the North Port Costco is looking for a technician to assist the optometrist with direct patient care, and administrative office duties. Among general office duties, this position will have the technician perform the following:

• Check-in patients, verify vision plan benefits, schedule, and confirm appointments
• Gather and input patient’s medical history into the electronic health record and prepare charts for patient exams
• Perform basic preliminary testing and contact lens training
• Collect fees and set up patient recall
• Light office duties of covering equipment, wiping down tables, changing liners, and ordering / putting away contact lenses.

Position is open for full or part time employment. Office hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 am to 7:30 pm, Saturday 9:45 to 5:30 pm (subject to change). Technician must be available to work a full shift of operating hours. Prior vision care experience is preferred but not required. This position requires strong customer service skills, time management, and courtesy. Competitive compensation and training is provided for suitable candidates.

Range $17-$21 / hour based on experience. Full time employees receive paid time off and credit toward health insurance in the marketplace.
