SUMMARY:

The Quality manager has overall responsibility for the Quality department. This position participates in the development of the Quality Management System and the implementation of Total Quality Management principles. The Quality Manager is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements through establishing procedures for maintaining a high standard of quality, reliability, and safety. Responsible for organizing and promoting company-wide quality improvement efforts and evaluating and developing improved quality control techniques. The Quality Manager also has responsibility to act as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the QC Lab and all in-process quality control testing
• Participates in testing of production inks and raw materials as required
• Conducts root cause analysis on non-conforming products
• Works closely with Chemist in regards to variation in the test results
• Responds to internal and external quality issues
• Completes quality and customer surveys
• Conducts “Out of Box Audits”
• Conducts in-process audits
• Supports the development and implementation of a formal quality system.
• Performs various quality control tests to ensure product meets defined specifications
• Alerts manager and/or Chemist regarding any tests that do not meet specification
• Maintains I.S.O. Quality System including preparation for annual audit
• Records all RA’s and generates monthly reports highlighting Pareto effects
• Maintains and monitors quality metrics such as percent returns, first pass yield, out of box audits
• Performs root-cause analysis on quality problems and recommends
• Works with production managers to proactively prevent quality issues

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• ISO 9001 Quality System administration experience
• Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality role
• Working knowledge of all QC measuring equipment
• Full understanding of advanced quality tools
• Complete and thorough understanding of Statistical Process Control
• Thorough understanding of ink processing and testing
• Ability to perform all QC tests

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience
