MARKET MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION

About Fresh Picks:

Fresh Picks is a personal grocery service for local, fresh & healthy food. We believe food should be a source of health, happiness and an enduring source of generational impact. We deliver incredibly fresh, top-quality local groceries to homes and offices across 180 Chicagoland zip codes.

About This Role:

A Market Manager represents Fresh Picks at public-facing consumer events such as markets, tabling events, pop-ups, and festivals. The Market Manager is an ambassador, salesperson, and enthusiastic marketer for the company’s services, products, and mission. This is a seasonal role with the opportunity to develop into a permanent part-time or full-time role.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company enthusiastically at consumer-facing events
  • Sell subscription services and local foods at events
  • Educate customers about Fresh Picks services and local food offering
  • Lead new customers through the process of signing up for subscriptions
  • Schedule, set up, and tear down booths and tabling set-ups at events
  • Support the sales & marketing team's strategic growth initiatives
  • Contribute towards a team culture

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about the local food system and its supplier community
  • Eager to learn and try marketing and sales tactics & strategy
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solutions-oriented
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment & supportive of change
  • Familiar with Google Workspace or equivalent and basic e-commerce
  • Clear communicator with customers and community members
  • Efficient with reporting and data analysis
  • Comfortable and confident with in-person interaction
  • Likes to have fun at work and be a positive contributor
  • Able to safely lift up to 50lbs
  • A valid driver’s license required

Typical Activities Include:

· Proactively engaging customers and initiating in-person dialogue

· Attend tabling events and pop-up events, often on weekends and weeknights

· Assist with set-up and tear-down at events

· Brand ambassador activities and marketing material distribution
