Advancement Coordinator - Nonprofit Organization

Job Summary:

The advancement coordinator helps organize and administer fundraising and marketing communications efforts for Crystal Cove Conservancy. The coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the general operational priorities of the Advancement Team. The coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and project support to the development manager and marketing and communications manager.

Within Development: The coordinator is responsible for supporting the development team with fundraising management including grant management, gift processing, acknowledgment production, and database entry. The coordinator is also responsible for providing event and campaign support as required.

Within Marketing Communications: The coordinator is responsible for supporting the marketing and communications manager in various internal communications and PR-related endeavors including content creation and coordination to support development activities and initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordination for development activities, fundraising events, and marcom efforts.
  • Coordinator of CCC CRM database and software (training provided)
  • Support Development team with appeal campaigns and other fundraising communications and strategies
  • Support with Grant research, preparation, scheduling
  • Support marcom and social media activities in support of general engagement with supporters and the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Advancement Team
  • Some evening/weekend work may be required to support development events

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years nonprofit experience
  • Event planning/coordination experience is desired
  • Exceptional organizational skills are a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to pinpoint problems AND suggest solutions
  • A entrepreneurial work ethic and a desire to “get the job done”
  • Team-player who is collaborative, positive, and supportive
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through with direction
  • Willingness to contribute ideas, even among senior staff and board members
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Interest and commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of Crystal Cove Conservancy
  • Willing to learn CRM software (Raiser’s Edge)
  • Experience with marketing software (like Constant Contact) a plus

Allocation of Responsibilities: 75% Support of development and marketing efforts and activities/ 25% Event Support

Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Compensation Range: $24 - $28 hourly, depending on qualifications.

Reports to: Director of Development

Location: Crystal Cove State Park Historic District with flexibility for remote work a portion of each week.
