General Summary

The Senior Product Engineer supports all aspects of Rochester Electronics products throughout the development and manufacturing process from initial conception to delivery to the end customer. The Product Engineer communicates and collaborates with internal departments, including sales, assembly, production control, quality, and test engineering, daily to assist in reaching company objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead for resolving issues concerning, but not limited to, test and screening yield analysis and improvement, quality and reliability failures, customer corrective action requests (CCAR), and audits.
  • Review and interpret customer drawings and specifications, define product manufacturing flows, and develop applicable reliability qualification plans to drive technical requirements for new product introductions.
  • Create, review, and approve internal processes and specifications to support high-quality manufactured and tested products.
  • Serve the role of technical lead on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to effectively prevent problems and continuously improve cost, quality, yield, and electrical test performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science required in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, including leading a team through a systematic methodology such as 8D, 5 Why, and/or fishbone diagrams.
  • Demonstrate strong data analysis abilities to enable a thorough understanding of results and accurate problem statements.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong time management skills for this dynamic work environment.
  • Be familiar with various semiconductor component types and understand their specifications, manufacturing methods, and test methods.
  • Be familiar with basic test methods and setting up bench equipment for characterization or verifying failures.
  • Knowledge and experience with JEDEC and MilStd specifications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automotive semiconductor requirements is helpful but not required.
