Quality Management Systems (QMS) Coordinator

Dessert Holdings partners with some of North America’s most iconic chains to bring people together to celebrate life’s sweetest moments!We are searching for a Quality Management Systems Coordinator to join our Quality team in Newburyport, MA, at Dianne’s Fine Desserts, a subsidiary of Dessert Holdings.
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 / 9:00 am to 4:30 / 5:30 pm (Some flexibility required)
  • $28 - $32 /hr depending on experience ( Benefits! See below)
  • Status – Hourly, Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) is required. A food science degree is an asset.
  • Two (2) years of related work experience in a food production or manufacturing facility is required.
  • Intermediate MS Office computer experience required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish preferable.
  • Strong coaching, training, and project management skills required.
  • Troubleshooting issues with little supervision required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong data entry skills required.
  • Detailed and meticulous with good organizational skills.
  • Must be articulate, tactful, and professional at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal and discretionary skills.
  • Resourceful and good problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates and receives Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audits for both Dianne’s Fine Desserts (DFD) locations. Provides support to all Dessert Holdings facilities as required related to GFSI audits, including but not limited to completion of risk assessments and validations.
  • Conducts routine appraisals of elements of Dessert Holdings’ Quality Management System to ensure conformance to FSCC 2200, RSPO, and other mandatory quality programs, as well as voluntary standards and regulations.
  • Under the direction of the Corporate QMS Coordinator, and plant quality leaders, maintains the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) program for all Dianne’s Fine Desserts (DFD) facilities and serves as the overall responsible person.
  • Participates in customer audits at DFD locations as required.
  • Participates in cross-functional team projects in the development of food safety related programs for DFD facilities as required.
  • Participates in Mock Recalls for DFD locations.
  • Participates in internal audits for DFD facilities ensuring they are completed, ensuring corrective actions have been completed.
  • Reports findings of various audits, including levels of compliance, remedial actions, and their timely execution to stakeholders.
  • Serves as the gatekeeper for document controls, ensuring all documents are maintained, current and accurate, and entered into the system for both DFD locations.
  • Provides support for training development and execution at DFD facilities, as required.
  • Provides support for specific projects as per direction from QA leadership.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains Ingredient and Packaging Material Vulnerability Assessments from a food fraud standpoint for DFD facilities.
  • Provides support and serves as a backup for DFD Kosher program implementation, maintenance, and execution.
  • Travels to facilities as required for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for supplier approval program maintenance and execution for DFD facilities.
  • Participates in food safety team meetings.
  • Follows company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) policies and procedures.
  • Abides by all safety regulations.
