New Buffalo Animal Hospital is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near New Buffalo, MI

New Buffalo Animal Hospital is a fast-paced, small animal clinic and we are seeking to find a receptionist to help work at the front desk. As the first and last impression of New Buffalo Animal Hospital, we want the receptionists be friendly and warm to ensure our patients and clients feel supported throughout their visit. We value team members who work hard, efficient and compassionately.

Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-line phone system and provide prompt, courteous, and professional communications.
  • Corresponding to email communications.
  • Greet and check in clients/patients upon arrival and ensures all client/patient information is up to date at time of service.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures.
  • Process payment transactions.
  • Assist with pet supply purchases such as food, supplements, and grooming items.
  • Clean up after patient accidents in the reception area.
  • Assist in cleaning the hospital, including but not limited to keeping reception desk area and lobby clean.
  • Relay all necessary questions/information to the doctors and/or technicians. Discharge patients which include reviewing the discharge instructions/medications and payment.
  • Process end of day financials.

What we look for:

  • Must be prompt and a hard worker.
  • Must be available to work some weekend and evening hours.
  • Previous veterinary experience is encouraged but not required.
  • Computer skills: Windows-based computer systems, word processing, email, web search and other skills needed to effectively use the practice management software program.
  • Possession of strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy. Performs other duties as assigned.
