Summary:
Ontivity Professional Services is seeking an Engineering or Civil Design Student for a Summer/Fall Internship. This position will assist our Engineers and Civil Site Designers in analysis and construction drawings for new telecommunication tower site builds, or modifications to existing sites. This position may support field inspections and should be open to travel.
This position is open in our Arvada, Colorado and New Braunfels, Texas Office.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and/or modify AutoCAD templates for Architectural & Engineering (A&E) packages
Review A&E drawing packages for telecom sites and address redlines.
Produce complete A&E packages as directed by Engineer, Design Manager, or Project Manager.
Design/analyze various telecom structures other than towers (e.g. equipment pads, shelters, steel platforms, antenna mounts, etc.).
Produce equipment shelter, concrete slab, and equipment platform conceptual sketches for the A&E detailer to develop into design and fabrication drawings
Recommend civil and electrical design changes for telecom sites
Review structural documentation for compliance, completion, and consistency with overall project
Participate in development of A&E processes, standards and tools/programs
Perform quality assurance reviews of third party A&E vendors
Respond to consultation work order requests through the Engineering Services (ESP) program
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing and participate in random testing program
Position requires working in a professional office atmosphere
Must possess valid driver’s license and are required to drive company vehicles
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience using AutoCAD software is required
2-3 Years of Engineering Design or Drafting Course work, Civil or Electrical Focus
Familiar with Design Codes and Engineering Fundamentals
Must be detail-oriented
Must have strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
Must be a team player and possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

This position does not have supervisory requirements
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time – temporary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some overtime requirements

Currently Enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Civil Design
