The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for operating an order-picker to retrieve and ship stocked merchandise to fulfill customer orders that are shipped via various freight line carriers.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Retrieve merchandise according to the pick list by location sequence to fulfill orders.
• Stage and check merchandise in designated area.
• Be responsible for weighing and labeling merchandise to be shipped by various freight line carriers.
• Quote and process freight charges for outbound customer orders.
• Be responsible for outsourcing inbound and outbound freight services.
• Assume responsibility for deciphering which freight line carrier is most cost efficient.
• Print pick lists for outbound deliveries.
• Stack and wrap merchandise on pallets.
• Check packing list against merchandise for accuracy.
• Inspect merchandise for damages.
• Load palletized merchandise on various freight line carriers’ trucks.
• Be responsible for shipping vendor returns.
• Maintain records of outbound shipments including: bill of lading numbers, charges, carries, etc.
• Frequently inspect material handling equipment to report any mechanical issues.
• Participate and follow warehouse safety and housekeeping procedures.

Qualifications

You have:

• Ability to stand and be in motion at all times. Flexible enough to walk, twist, bend, stoop, pull, grip and lift merchandise.
• Ability to learn American Paper & Twine products and services.
• Ability to learn and operate ERP system.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to operate and complete a tow motor, order-picker, and pallet jack certification.
• Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs.
• Ability to pull 2200 lbs using a pallet jack and pull or push 200 lbs using a two-wheeler.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
