POSITION SUMMARY

Overall management, leadership, and oversight responsibility for the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring that it achieves all internal and external quality objectives involving industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the QMS and ensuring compliance with an AS9100 program
  • Ensure compliance with electronics manufacturing IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Prepare quality plans, procedures and instructions
  • Ensure that standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation are maintained and adhered to
  • Identify methods, techniques and materials that optimize safety and reliability of company products
  • Conduct internal auditor training and ensure that internal audits are completed on time and accurately
  • Represent management during third party audits with BSI, customers, UL, etc.
  • Complete customer questionnaires, first article inspection reports and certificates of conformance in a thorough and timely manner
  • Analyze and report on departmental level quality data
  • Document and initiate corrective action and risk analysis
  • Responsible for hiring, oversight, training, development and appraisal of departmental staff


SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in a manufacturing discipline/technical field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.) is preferred
  • Associate degree or equivalent is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Manager role, preferably within an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company

REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Prior experience working with and/or implementing an AS9100 program is preferred
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
  • Knowledge of quality processes and standards
  • Registered lead assessor course required or equivalent training/experience within 6 months of employment unless completed prior to employment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, professional disposition and strong managerial skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines with changing priorities and schedules
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to hazards (chemical, mechanical, and/or radiant energy). The employee may be required to wear protective clothing such as heel straps and a lab coat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All of the work will be performed indoors.
