Position Summary:

Provide transdisciplinary Early Supports and Services to enrolled children by utilizing a variety of techniques to address developmental delays in communication, motor, cognition, social and emotional skills and sensory needs. Services will be provided in individual consumer homes and be designed to help children reach IFSP goals. Caseload may also consist of children with a diagnosis of autism whose services will include Floortime, ABA philosophies and other autism services as appropriate.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide services and activities for assigned children designed to help reach IFSP goals.
• Perform service coordination as appropriate per family and ESS program requirements.
• Maintain all required documentation of service provision, according to agency, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to, documenting family contacts, IFSP writing, and transition activity requirements.
• After receiving appropriate training, participate in developmental evaluations utilizing the Hawaii Early Learning Profile; create IFSP goals in the areas of cognitive/play, communication, social/emotional, hearing; and write reports of evaluations in a timely manner.
• Participate in weekly ESS staff meetings.
• Perform case consultations as needed.
• Serve as a resource as well as conduct parent/caregiver training as needed to ensure quality outcomes.
• Provide developmental evaluations as a member of a multidisciplinary team to children birth to age three (training to be provided).

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, childhood education or a related field, and/or ABA certification.
• Early Intervention Certification Required.
• Minimum three (3) years of successful early childhood education experience. Knowledge of treatment and therapies for infants and toddlers with developmental delays, and for toddlers with autism.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of working families.
• Written and verbal communication skills; the ability to effectively advocate ideas and influence internal and external audiences.
• Enjoys working collaboratively and in a team environment as well as work independently, prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Strong belief in provision of community services for people with developmental disabilities.
• Possess reliable transportation, valid drivers’ license and applicable vehicle insurance for business travel.
