Seeking a Payroll Manager for civil infrastructure contractor in Nanuet, New York. The Payroll Manager will oversee the day-to-day functions of the payroll department by maintaining financial procedures, adhering to internal controls, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of weekly payroll.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Responsible for the training and development of the payroll team.
• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures and ensure compliance with labor laws, government agencies, and union entities.
• Routine maintenance of ERP to updates to federal, state, and local taxes, employee files, and worker compensation rates, union fringe benefit, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining a repository of current collective bargaining agreements and rates with union locals.
• Responsible for weekly payroll tax payments and assist with preparation of quarterly payroll tax returns.
• Responsible for garnishment remittances and monthly union benefit reporting.
• Ensures compliance with OCIP, certified payroll, and unemployment reporting.
• Oversees year-end W-2 processing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 10 years of related payroll experience in construction. Heavy civil industry experience is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient interpersonal and organization skills
• MS Office proficiency
• Excellent verbal and written communication
