Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Attorney to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your legal expertise and understanding of tax law to advocate for clients, negotiate with tax authorities, and develop effective resolution strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Represent clients before the IRS and state tax authorities in various tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, and collections.
- Case Management: Analyze complex tax situations, research relevant laws and regulations, and develop comprehensive strategies to resolve tax debts and minimize penalties.
- Legal Correspondence: Prepare and file legal documents, negotiate with tax authorities on behalf of clients, and draft correspondence outlining legal arguments.
- Client Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, educating them about their legal options and providing regular updates on case progress.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree
- Active Bar License: Licensed to practice law in the state of California
- Excellent Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, tax authorities, and colleagues.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal and factual issues, identify potential risks, and develop creative solutions.
- Research Skills: Proficiency in legal research to stay informed about evolving tax laws and regulations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, based on experience
