Stone Mountain Park is Hiring a Cook Near Mountain, GA

The Cook prepares quick service menu items at select Food locations, maintains a clean kitchen/work environment following all Stone Mountain Park and Georgia State Health Department guidelines, actively monitors safe food temperatures, and effectively rotates inventory to maintain freshness and quality of all food products. The pay for this position is $12.50 per hour.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAdditional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at any time.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • Ensures day dot procedures are in place: follows First in First Out
  • Know, understand and enforce the use of the “Start Fresh” program when necessary
  • Season and cook food according to recipes
  • Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Regulate temperatures of foods
  • Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
  • All other duties as assigned
Required Skills & ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must understand, read, write and speak the English language
  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers
  • Must have the ability to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to understand and follow a number of simple recipes and cooking technique procedures in written and oral form
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Must feel comfortable safely handling basic kitchen utensils such as knives
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months of cooking experience in at a restaurant or fast food location required
