Premier Staffing Solution is Hiring an Industrial Buyer Near Moulton, AL
- Help to establish and grow the internal Industrial Buying function
- Identify, pursue, and sign-on new industrial accounts.
- Visit current and prospective suppliers at their facilities. Perform inspection of materials to ensure quality.
- Maintain and develop a network of reliable industry contacts to stay up to date on information pertaining to buying/selling prices and trends in local and regional markets.
- Industrial Buyer will need to maintain a list of industrial and commercial accounts of companies/facilities that produce scrap metal.
- Provide excellent customer service by efficiently resolving quality issues and/or other discrepancies that arise with customers.
- Attend industry events to keep up with current market trends and maintaining and developing those relationships
- Purchase scrap to meet volume targets while optimizing profit margins
- Set pricing for individual accounts and update as required due to changing market conditions
- Utilize knowledge of yard operations and processing to make cost effective pricing decisions
- Keep informed of competitive efforts directed at our accounts. Develop strategies and action to prevent account loss
- Coordinate with administrative staff and trading team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchasing transactions
- Coordinate shipments with suppliers and assist internal logistics department with delivery and pick up of material, equipment and roll-off containers when appropriate
- A High School, 2-Year or 4-Year college Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of professional, full-time experience within a scrap metal company
- Ability to Travel up to 25% of the time
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good business sense and judgment
- Self-starter, with a strong drive and sense of intellectual curiosity
- Ability to thrive as a motivated self-starter in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information clearly and concisely
- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize appropriately
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, influence others, and effect change
- Possess the highest level of integrity; serving as a trusted advisor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorships are not available
