Summary of Job Duties:
The Director of Financial Aid works under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and provides overall strategic direction to the Office of Financial Aid. This position is governed by state and federal laws along with institution policies.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:.
- Plans, directs, and implements a comprehensive financial aid delivery system comprised of federal and state grant, loan and scholarship programs.
- Serves as Financial Aid Lead through the Workday student implementation process, including preparing for proper implementation and conversion of all student financial processes and information to the Workday Student Information System.
- Ensures that students are informed about their eligibility for financial aid by developing and directing a system for collecting and evaluating applications, and for the timely and effective awarding of all types of financial aid.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates financial aid policies and procedures of the institution within the framework of federal and state financial aid regulations.
- Oversees the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Return of Title IV Funds processes.
- Annually completes the college’s Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP).
- Serves as the institutional Primary Destination Point Administration (DPA) for Federal Student Aid services, ensuring that the Financial Aid Office staff are given access to needed federal student aid sites as needed.
- Ensures that the institution’s Program Participation Agreement (PPA) is updated and revised as needed, and the institution’s Application to Participate in the Federal Student Aid Programs E-App is updated as needed and in a timely manner.
- Represents the college in a professional manner at financial aid activities, such as high school financial aid nights and community-related functions.
- Recommends the hiring of Office of Financial Aid personnel to the Vice Chancellor for Finance.
- Provides training, supervision, and performance evaluations for the Office of Financial Aid personnel to ensure effective and efficient operations of the department.
- Actively serves and participates on campus committees, as assigned.
- Maintains current knowledge and best practices in the field of financial aid and attends local, state, regional, or national conferences and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in college student personnel, educational administration, business administration, education, or a related field
Prior work experience in college Financial Aid (higher education
Two years of work experience in the role of supervisor
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.
