Robert Half is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Montgomery, IL

DescriptionRobert Half is looking for a Financial Analyst for a client in the western suburbs. Reporting to the US FP& A Manager, you will be taking on a key role that encompasses business partnering, budget/forecast ownership and month end analysis.
Your main focus will be business partnering with department heads and budget holders. Providing value add analysis, commercial insight and challenging them to drive business performance and achieve their targets. You'll help deliver the budget and forecast process ensuring achievable targets are set.
During month end you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing MI packs and sharing findings with your direct manager to assist with commentary. You will also produce variance reports and present analysis to your stakeholders to discuss month end performance versus targets.
Main Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities for this new role are:
  • Review financial performance against budget/forecast in the US. Working with the reporting team and wider FP& A team to ensure the numbers prepared are accurate and month end is closed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports for your stakeholders (e.g. Ops, Logistics, IT, HR, Wholesale) providing insights into their financial performance each month. Ensure performance is understood, including the impact on budget/forecast in later months.
  • Identify risk and opportunities associated with performance and report to manager
  • Analysis of various KPIs (e.g. postage cost per unit, outbound labor cost per unit, PPC spend %).
  • Analysis of expenditures and cost trends, identifying potential variances and implementing corrective actions to ensure we stay on track.
  • Accurate and timely production of MI packs each month include commentary on performance vs budget/forecast.
  • Working with colleagues in FP& A and Financial Control to improve processes and reporting.
  • Provide business partnering support to your stakeholders through regular dialogue and meetings. Both challenging and encouraging stakeholders on performance to help Group achieve its financial goals.
  • Supporting the preparation of business cases for new initiatives or investments. Track ROI in subsequent months to ensure business cases delivered per their submission.
  • Help deliver the budget/forecast submissions for the US business, working with the wider business and FP& A to ensure a robust budget/forecast is prepared and understood by all.
  • Overseeing Impact reporting efforts for the Group.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
Successful Financial Analyst will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, 2 years experience in financial analysts and strong Excel skills.
