Description

Responsible for working with AutoCad creating, modifying, and releasing drawings under direct supervision of the designing engineer for use by other departments and customers. Works closely with the Design Engineer and/or Senior Designer to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information. 

Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

1. Modifies existing drawings or creates new drawings when necessary to meet project needs using Autocad Electrical
2. Works closely with engineers, technicians and senior designers to obtain information necessary to ensure drawing clarity, accuracy and quality
3. Contributes to design reviews and improves job efficiencies
4. Assists with panel shop assembly and wiring as needed
5. Performs related duties as needed

Requirements

 Required: 

• High school diploma or GED.
• BS, AS in drafting, electrical design, electro-mechanical technology or automation systems, or training and certification from a recognized CAD training facility.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Personal computer skills: AutoCad Electrical, Microsoft Office products, as well as knowledge of plotters and printers.
• Independence skills: a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own.
• Team skills: a team player with the willingness to help others within the department, as well as within the company.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work; Ability to multi-task; Detail oriented.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time during an 8 hour shift.

Desired:

• Knowledge of drafting standards.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and UL requirements.
• Ability to customize AutoCad Electrical to improve overall drafting efficiency.
