Luther Ridge at Middletown Inc is Hiring a Maintenance Worker II Near Middletown, CT

The Maintenance Worker II is accountable for maintaining and up keeping Luther Ridge buildings, grounds, and equipment. Additionally, they perform maintenance work on walls including sheetrock, taping, and painting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to work orders and perform repairs on facility equipment and systems under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain and repair Luther Ridge physical plant, focusing on sheetrock, taping, and professional painting. Also, maintain and repair contents and resident equipment.
  • Assist in sustaining a preventative maintenance program on equipment and supplies.
  • Aid in the repair of movable and permanent equipment in the building as needed, including A/C, heating, electrical, lighting, plumbing, emergency generator, fire alarm, sprinklers, beds, wheelchairs, medical equipment, and lifts.
  • Provide assistance in renovating rooms as directed, including painting, floor, and ceiling repairs.
  • Use heavy machinery to strip and wax floors as directed.
  • Assist in snow removal as needed.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
  • Demonstrate professional work behavior by following Service Standards and Success factors.
  • Comply with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adhere to external agency requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to help meet the goals of the program or the agency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of experience in machinery operation, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or heating systems preferred, or the ability to learn about these systems.
  • Must possess a valid CT driver's license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings preferred.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Ability to work independently and be organized.

Trainings Required:

  • Ascentria Organizational Orientation.
  • Maintain mandatory training and certifications as required.
