The HR Team is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Middle River, MD

Atlantic Design, Inc., a small & growing manufacturing company located in the Baltimore / White Marsh area, currently has an immediate need for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position where you will support and be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial tasks. You will also be a key player in our financial day-to-day operations, ensuring our systems and processes operate efficiently and accurately. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take their career to the next level.
Responsibilities Include
  • Responsible for all accounting tasks: invoicing / accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, month end processes, inventory book management and general ledger maintenance.
  • Manage all invoice and credit card reconciliations.
  • Responsible for accurate recording to inventory and accounting software systems.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Effectively communicate with vendors and customers regarding AP/AR concerns.
  • Ensure proper setup of our customers and items for sales tax processing and compliance with all state and local tax laws.
  • Collaborate with production and inventory teams to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting of materials and finished goods.
  • Manage our reporting requirements with both states and local governments.
  • Maintain accurate cost records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of cost control procedures.
  • Prepare analytical / statistical reports and information, as needed.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as tax filings.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • On a regular basis, work with manager to identify process improvements, implementation opportunities, develop procedures and enhancements.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Back up other team members when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Analytical, highly organized and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing business with national sales.
  • Creative problem solvers.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or commensurate experience.
  • 3 years' experience in accounting / costing, ideally in manufacturing, inventory or construction industries.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting software; experience with QB Online a plus.
  • Experience with state sales tax a plus.
  • Organized and comfortable working independently with multiple priorities.
  • A willingness to take on challenges, think analytically and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office with an emphasis on Excel, Outlook and Teams required. Mid level Excel skills required (V-lookups, pivot tables, etc).
  • Must work on-site.
It Would Be Great If You Have
  • QuickBooks Online experience.
  • Sales Tax experience.
  • Manufacturing, inventory or construction accounting experience.
  • A willingness to grow and learn, and to take on more responsibility over time.
The salary range for this position is $65k to $75k, based on experience.
