Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to various physician protocols. In addition to the routine tasks, a Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available.

Essential Duties:

• Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
• Obtains the patient's history to insure proper scheduling.
• Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.
• Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge).
• Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.
• Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.
• Reports equipment problems to department supervisor
• Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards.

Requirements:

• Maintain required State licenses and/or ARRT Certification, health requirements, and operational requirements
• Limited license not accepted
• Candidate must speak Spanish fluently
