Overview & Responsibilities:
As a Funeral Director, you'll provide exceptional customer service in all areas of funeral arrangements, cremation, ceremonies, and internment. Your role is pivotal in assisting families through the funeral process, ensuring their wishes are honored with the utmost respect and care. This position may require evenings and weekends, and you will have the opportunity to learn industry-specific software to enhance your skills.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct Heartfelt Ceremonies: Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies with professionalism, organization, and compassion, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Negotiate with Care: Handle funeral contracts, legal documents, and payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and providing clear, empathetic communication with families.
- Support Veterans: Inform client families of special recognition services available for veterans and ensure these services are delivered with honor.
- Coordinate Interments and Cremations: Arrange for the interment or cremation of human remains with precision and sensitivity.
- On-Call Excellence: Perform on-call responsibilities, including taking first calls, talking with families, answering questions, providing initial details, and conducting transfers.
- Respectful Care: Supervise and care for the deceased, including embalming, restoration, dressing, styling hair, applying cosmetics, and preparing cremated remains with dignity and respect.
- Lead Funeral Services: Usher, drive funeral vehicles, assist at chapel and church services, and support families at the cemetery.
- Deliver Personal Touches: Deliver flowers, caskets, urns, photos, and other keepsakes to families, ensuring every detail is handled with care.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all professional, municipal, provincial/state, and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
- Provide Information: Share information on insurance, health benefits, pensions, and pre-arrangements for next of kin.
- Facilitate Referrals: Ensure potential pre-need referrals are shared with Family Service Counselors.
- Administrative Excellence: Complete and accurately prepare all documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, and other data entries; prepare reports as necessary.
- Inventory Management: Receive caskets and other funeral home supplies and manage inventory.
