What you need: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent in related work experience
- 7 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-entity or multi-state environment
- Advanced Excel experience (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, payroll principles, and regulations with a focus on Massachusetts. Multi-state knowledge a plus.
- Computer literate for functions of data entry and basic word processing
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) a plus
- Prior experience with Dayforce payroll platform

What you'll do: - Processes weekly payroll for hourly and salary employees, including applicable payroll deductions for taxes and benefits, timely and accurately.
- Reviews timecard data for completion and compliance with state, local, and company-level work rules and supervisory approval
- Answers incoming telephone calls and responds in a timely manner to any payroll-related questions or concerns employees might have.
- Reviews, calculates, and processes monthly travel mileage reimbursement for all traveling clinicians.
- Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system (Dayforce); such as employee's hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid time off (PTO), paid leave and holidays, deductions and tax withholding, and other pay-related information.
- Processes additional earnings such as bonuses, on-call pay, and differentials and key on Excel spreadsheet for inclusion in payroll.
- Partners with the People Operations team to ensure accurate management of employee payroll including onboarding, status changes, terminations, employment verifications, unemployment forms, benefit deductions, etc.
- Identifies and escalates payroll or employee issues to the Payroll Manager, VP of FP&A, and/or VP of People Operations.
- Completes all payroll reports for the management team and forwards in a timely manner.
- Maintains full understanding of Clinical compensation model which includes quota and over quota points and per diem rates based on clinical position.
- Assists in the review of quarterly payroll reports and year-end activities including W2s and ACA reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Stays updated on the latest payroll and tax regulations and provides recommendations for changes and best practices for company processes.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Assists in documenting Payroll processes and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of all client and employee information.
- Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures and applicable laws; communicates necessary information to supervisor and management staff to assure accuracy of data and coordination of agency functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
