Job Function:

The Closing Manager is accountable to the Store Manager and is responsible in the assigned departments to consistently executing Buonadonna ShopRite’s Merchandising and Operational Standards by successfully navigating in the competitive marketplace, building community relationships and improving Shopper Loyalty at every decision point by maintaining the Buonadonna ShopRite values.

Essential Job Duties:

· Adhere to the posted schedule and work shifts as per applicable direct reports scheduling.

· Adhere and comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state, federal, health and civil code regulations.

· Ensure assigned departments meet the Standards of Readiness and are ready to meet our customers by providing variety and freshness by scheduled opening times, properly scheduling and organizing workflow.

· Ensure assigned departments meet Department Standards by providing clean, attractive products that meet customer needs, and follow Merchandising Programs on how products should look.

· Ensure assigned departments meet Operational Standards and Quality Assurance on guidelines for opening, closing, staffing departments, CGO Ordering, display standards, signage and labeling. Ensuring safety for associates and customers with use of use of protective equipment, temperature and cleaning standards.

· Ensures proper maintenance and safe use of equipment.

· Demonstrate best practices and utilize information from financial statements to impact Asset Utilization and Backroom Goals.

· Make recommendations using competitive business information to improve or refine existing marketing strategies impacting shopper commitment to the store.

· Help develop creative ideas, and encourage department staff to impact the community by bringing ShopRite people/products/services to the community that we serve.

· Demonstrate accountability by managing resources in an effective manner; adhere to policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

· Communicate at every decision point to strengthen Shopper Loyalty.

· Promote cooperation, fairness and equity, engage talents, experience and capabilities of associates while fostering belonging, and create opportunities for access and success of our associates while improving Shopper Loyalty.

· Manages 10-15 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 125-300 associates in the store.

· Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of respective departments.

· Also directly supervises 125-300 non-supervisory associates.

· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

· Responsibilities include training, and development of associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

· Ability to express ideas clearly both orally and written.

· Ability to disseminate information to others in a method that ensures understanding.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and standards.

· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Note: Must follow “Minor Guidelines” with regards to operation of all equipment and storage facilities.

· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
