Summary:

This position is responsible to manage all quality related activities for the Mason City Mixing facility while maintaining acceptable levels of production and quality standards.

Education and Experience:

Required:

• 4-year degree in quality, engineering or any related field
• minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment in a technical support role

Desired:

• Rubber manufacturing background 
• Problem solving skills. 
• Positive interpersonal skills and desire to work directly with all areas of the manufacturing facility.

Quality Manager Expectations:

• Oversight and generation of NCMR's ad Corrective actions as a result of rubber and ingredient lots that do not meet specifications. Works closely with production personnel and Mixing Chemist, insuring timely execution of NCMR disposition, material reworks and correction action root cause analysis and implementation.
• Oversight of material quality documents and labeling sent to customers to insure they are completed correctly 100% of the time to meet customer expectations.
• Management and supervision of the Material Lab personnel including job performance management and training & growth opportunities
• Conducts monthly Bowler meetings with the plant and quality management. Participates in annual corporate management reviews.
• Responsibility for facility level quality systems including adherence to systems including layered process audits. Lead contact for Customer and 3rd Party quality and environmental system audits
• Responsible for creation and maintenance of Material APQP
• Participates in safety activities, including safety tours, training and accident / incident review for the department. Aids in developing Job Safety Aids for areas of responsibility.
• Assists production by communicating the necessary information to enable problem solving efforts that will reduce and/or eliminate rejects, labor and production costs.
