Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Team Supervisor, the custodian position works in cooperation with the entire parish and school staff and as a member of the team responsible for safety, cleanliness and efficient operation of the buildings and grounds.
This position splits responsibilities between St Francis of Assisi Parish and Roncalli Catholic Schools.

Duties and Responsibilities:Hospitality:
Emphasis on radical hospitality, greeting parishioners and visitors..
Facilitate effective public relations/communications within the parish and community.
Conveys the joy and gratitude of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish and Roncalli Catholic Schools community.
Supports the values and practices of the Catholic Church.

Responsibilities:
Keep the Waldo Site school building clean, tidy and safe for students, faculty and staff.
Keep Waldo Site church building clean, tidy and safe.
Help clean and maintain other parish buildings as needed.
Complete minor maintenance tasks and alert supervisor of larger building or equipment problems needing attention.
Set-up and clean up rooms in the manner and time frame requested.
Help as needed in maintaining walkways, parking lots and private drives in good winter condition; plow and/or blow snow.
Maintain inventories of cleaning equipment, materials and supplies.
Help as needed in maintaining lawn and lawn care equipment.
Ensure compliance with building code and fire safety procedures.
Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts to conform to all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Know and understand all school emergency protocols and stay up to date in training.

Requirements:
Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Spend 80-90% of work time on your feet doing a wide variety of moderate physical activity both indoors and out.
Use basic computer skills including word processing, email and calendaring.
Communicate professionally and courteously with staff, volunteers, parishioners, children, contractors and vendors.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
Good problem solving and prioritization skills.
Maintain a neat appearance.
Complete VIRTUS training and keep current with monthly bulletins.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

1. Operation of basic hand, power tools, and other equipment required for maintenance

Typical Working Conditions:
Position requires the individual to work inside and outside of SFA and Roncalli buildings.

Position requires the ability to take direction from supervisor and principal to accomplish responsibilities.

Other
Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license for equipment to be driven, with no serious violations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications
