New York State Office of the Attorney General is Hiring a Detective Investigator Near Manhattan, NY

Detective Investigator: Investigations - New York City
The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a qualified candidate for a Detective Investigator
position in the location noted above. Candidates should be hard-working, motivated, and committed
to public service on behalf of the people of the State of New York.
Investigators, under supervision, work with attorneys to conduct detailed investigations of the
circumstances, facts and conditions connected with complaints and violations of the law, using the
highest level of independent judgment and discretion. These are often highly complex and sensitive
criminal matters which cross county lines and involve white collar crimes.
The qualifications for this position include: Expert interviewing and interrogation skills;
extensive experience in the investigation of all types of criminal activity including white-
collar crime; experience investigating confidential and sensitive matters, such as those
dealing with cooperating witnesses and undercover operations; experience conducting
surveillance and executing search warrants; experience testifying as a witness; experience
utilizing various computer systems; experience working with other law enforcement
agencies; and having established regional contacts at the city, state and federal levels.

Qualifications in addition to those listed above:
Must have at least ten years of law enforcement experience and current NYS basic police school
certification.
Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have the ability to drive a motor vehicle.
The Public Officer’s Law requires that police officers at the OAG be citizens of the United States
and reside in New York State.
Performance of the duties may require frequent, unscheduled work on evenings and weekends and
requires 24/7 availability. This position is in the exempt class, and incumbents serve at the pleasure
of the Attorney General. The Hire Rate for this position is $75,348. Appointments in NYC receive an
additional $3,400 location pay.
