NH School Health Care Coalition (SchoolCare) is Hiring a Director of Finance Near Manchester, NH

We are looking for an experienced, professional, energetic, and team focused Director of Finance.

Responsibilities include overseeing all financial and human resource operations, including preparation of the budget, and financial forecasts. This role is accountable for a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or closely related field with at least 10 years of experience in accounting/administration/personnel/human resource management. Strong competence in a variety of technology programs including Outlook 365, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Access, and banking platforms is essential. Other important qualifications include exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a desire to excel!

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Accounting/Finances

  • Ensures organizational financial goals and objectives are met.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Establishes, monitors, and enforces internal control policies and procedures through analysis of risk.
  • Oversees and reviews accounting tasks, including processing payroll, taxes, 1099-MISC filing and compliance.
  • Reviews and approves all accounts payable and accounts receivable items.
  • Reviews monthly reconciliations of all asset and liability accounts monthly, including maintaining back-up documentation such as prepaid and depreciations schedules, etc.
  • Monitors investment compliance and tests on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensures preparation of accurate and complete monthly financial reporting for Associate Executive Director and Executive Director review within 20 calendar days following month end.
  • Presents quarterly management financial reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Analyzes financial performance and makes recommendations to Executive Director and Associate Executive Director as appropriate.
  • Handles all aspects of the annual financial audit with external accountants with support from the Accounting Team.
  • Develops annual budget by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; making recommendations.
  • Maintains electronic files as required.

II. Human Resources

  • Administers all HR policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all employment laws.
  • Processes, reviews, and maintains all payroll and tax reports.
  • Coordinates internal open enrollment for SchoolCare direct employees.
  • Manages, carries-out and documents the onboarding and termination processes for SchoolCare direct employees.
  • Maintains all personnel and leave reports.

III. Personnel Management

  • Leads, manages, coordinates and provides direction to the Accounting Team.
  • Hires, trains and maintains a collaborative climate which attracts, retains and motivates.
  • Identifies opportunities for cross-training to support fluctuations in workloads and employee professional growth while maintaining internal controls.
  • Performs annual evaluation of each Accounting Team staff member, including establishing annual goals and objectives and monitors progress to enhance professional development.

IV. Administration

  • Keeps Executive Director and Associate Executive Director informed about Accounting Team activities, challenges and opportunities.
  • Oversees, reviews, and approves office supply acquisitions.
  • Monitors and analyzes duties to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Plans, develops and facilitates changes in procedures, practices, workflows, assignments and equipment needs through recommendations to Executive and Associate Executive Director.
  • Provides administrative support for operations and administration, as deemed necessary.
