Mid Oregon Personnel is Hiring a Parts Manager Near Madras, OR

Description

The Parts Manager directs the Parts Department, managing it by maintaining an active inventory that is within the financial guidelines established by the dealership/marketplace and helping the department consistently contribute to the profitability of the business.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Customer Satisfaction- Communicate Customer Satisfaction Standards to all parts personnel. Implement Parts Processes that support Customer Satisfaction Standards; Monitor results of the Customer Satisfaction Survey and implement process strategies to continually improve customer satisfaction ratings; Establish and maintain an inventory control system that meets the dealership’s internal, warranty, and retail customers’ needs for parts and accessories; Establish and maintain a Consumer Relations policy that ensures complete customer satisfaction. Also provide a customer record and follow-up system, resolve customer complaints, and build loyal clientele for the dealership.
  • Sales - Ensure profitability of the Parts Department through the sale of parts and accessories; Develop competitive retail parts pricing policies; Initiate and control parts promotions and advertising.
  • Interdepartmental Relations- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments; Prepare for and participate in meetings with management and other department heads; Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with factory field representatives.
  • Expense Control - Manage department expenses effectively; Establish and maintain a Shipping and Receiving Process and policy; Establish check-in and inspection procedures; Establish policies for shipping; Establish policies for ordering stock
  • Housekeeping/Safety- Initiate housekeeping, safety and security procedures that result in a safe and attractive work environment; Maintain dealership equipment in effective working condition; Establish equipment maintenance schedules where necessary; Advise management of equipment needed for the department; Establish policies for stocking and retrieving boxes and parts
  • Personnel - Utilize a personnel management system that incorporates dealership policies on recruiting; Assist with hiring, orientation, and staffing levels; Establish and maintain practices to train, develop and motivate department employees; Utilize job descriptions including performance criteria to communicate expectations, monitor and measure employee effectiveness; Provide constructive feedback to employees on an ongoing basis as needed and during the formal Appraisal Process; Maintain catalogs, price schedules and other technical bulletins.
  • Inventory Control- Establish and maintain a purchase and ordering policy that will maintain a balanced inventory that maximizes availability, investment, and customer satisfaction; Develop procedures and management reports that allow prompt, complete and accurate feedback on inventory condition such as turnover, obsolescence, part aging, lost sales, etc.; Establish and maintain an inventory storage system for equipment location, bin locations, bin numbering, bin tags, etc.; Prepare and supervise the preparation and submission of orders; Ensure incentive claim paperwork Is processed efficiently
  • Factory Relations- Establish and maintain warranty, scrap, and return parts handling procedures, including location, documentation, materials return, designating personnel, etc.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
  • Prior marine industry parts and/or service department experience preferred.
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to communicate at a high level, both verbally and in writing
  • Organizational and computer skills are required for the position
  • Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process driven
  • Have a valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug screen
