JOB DESCRIPTION : Controls furnace to reheat previously quenched and hardened metal objects, and quenches them in brine, water, oil, or molten lead to remove quenching strains and brittleness and to impart toughness to metal.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• 1. Must be able to read all instrumentation, gages and sight glasses to set and monitor necessary information.
• 3. Must be able to lift parts as needed to make loads.
• 4. Must be able to operate testing equipment including Brinell Tester, Rockwell Tester, metals lab equipment for polishing and metallograph.
• 5. Must be able to fill out necessary reports.
• 6. Assist in clean up , repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
• 7. Assist in the changing and discharging of materials on racks.
• 8. Other duties assigned

OTHER : May be required to follow / perform other job related instructions / duties as requested, subject to applicable state and federal laws.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Must have strength and agility to lift parts and adjust machine for proper alignment to straighten.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

• 1 years’ experience or on the job training.
• Job Knowledge : or at least Knowledge and experience within the Heat Treatment inspection industry is preferable.
• Knowledge of the heat treat processes, procedures, and technical instruments is a plus but not required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Employees must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time
