Immediate opening available for a SKILLED & MOTIVATED Logistics Coordinator at our Madison Heights, MI location. A minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics or transportation is required for this position. Experience in a 3PL environment is preferred.

Logistics Coordinator

We are a progressive, fast growing 3PL looking for a Logistics Coordinator capable of providing daily support to our account management team. The Logistics Coordinator will report to the Operations Manager. In this position your responsibilities would include phone and email communication, appointment setting, check calls and load booking. Some of the most important traits we are looking for in a candidate are self-motivation, problem solving, focused, and able to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Duties:

• Ensure the customers’ shipments run smoothly every day by staying highly organized.
• Assist in maintaining strong relationships with your team & carriers through consistent communication and excellent service.
• Perform various load management tasks such as load booking, appointment scheduling, phone management and email correspondence.
• Communicate details about shipments and negotiate rates with prospective carriers.
• Qualify carriers that are the best match for our customers’ shipments.
• Dispatching carriers/trucks booked on customers’ shipments.
• Conduct daily check calls to ensure timely pickup and delivery of customers’ shipments.
• Open and proactive communication, both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics or transportation.
• Professional, courteous, and cooperative with the team, customers, and carriers.
• Must have a drive to succeed, confidence, and great verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of a TMS System.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Enjoy working in a team environment with high levels of team communication.
• Must be self-motivated, punctual, and reliable.
• Must be willing to do what it takes to learn.
• Willing to be challenged and create solutions.
