Macon Water Authority is Hiring a Field Services Technician Near Macon, GA
The Field Service Representative performs semi-skilled work and is responsible for connecting and disconnecting water services and obtaining difficult meter readings. The Field Service Representative may perform occasional minor water meter
maintenance/repair.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve meter maintenance and service problems
Report tampering or illegal connections of service
Reread meters in response to requests relative to high bills or other issues.
May install or replace the meter at existing service lines.
Respond to emergency calls to disconnect water service for broken or burst pipes.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Six months of experience in meter reading or meter repair
Ability to analyze meter service problems
Thorough knowledge of the principles of plumbing
Thorough knowledge of street locations in Macon and Bibb County
Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, bending, or stooping
Occasional sitting, crawling, climbing, crouching, or balancing
Ability to lift to waist level, pull, and push up to 50 pounds, occasionally over 50 pounds.
Use hands to grasp, write, draw, and operate office equipment.
Ability to grasp and hold
