Job Summary:

***MUST BE LOCATED IN MOUNT AIRY, NC. ***

The Business Data Analyst is hybrid based at the Leonard Mt. Airy, NC Customer Support Center (CSC), with operations in the U.S. and will be responsible for analysis of financial statements and software data sets, as well as developing and enhancing PowerBI reporting, gross margin, and PVM analysis. In addition, they will provide as needed ad hoc reporting and analysis. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Finance and does not have direct reports.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development and maintenance of PowerBI reporting.

• Ensures data integrity between the PowerBi system and source data.

• Works with the Sr Director of Finance to implement technological solutions to enhance visibility and reporting of key business drivers.

• Supports a timely and accurate monthly reporting process.

• Works with different functional areas to ensure reporting and metrics are designed and delivered accurately and in a timely fashion.

• Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support financial planning and decision-making.

• Develops and implements financial metrics and reporting that supports business growth and profitability.

• Conducts financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide recommendations to management for performance improvement.

• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function, implementing best practices and automation where applicable.

Competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities):

• Advanced Excel skills, including PowerPivot, PowerQuery, and macro/query building.

• Proficiency in SQL

• Experience developing and implementing PowerBI reporting.

• Advance knowledge of how to leverage PowerBI to provide easy to use reporting and analysis for different functional areas.

• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience building PowerBI reports, using Power Pivots/Power Query/SQL to aggregate and analyze data from multiple different systems.

• 2 years’ experience working in a finance environment. Corporate retail experience is a plus.
