Overview

Natural Resources is looking for an Administrative Specialist II to join our team!

This position provides both administrative support and excellent customer service. The Administrative Specialist will interact with customers, answer phones, sell annual permits and campsites, review forms and applications, answer program-related questions, and perform data entry.

The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm at our beautiful Loveland office. Occasional weekend and holiday work is required.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Interprets County/departmental polices, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries. Routes inquiries appropriately for more complex matters and interpretation issues.
  • Accepts and processes plans, specifications, forms, reports, legal documents, applications, or similar materials in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Composes and prepares replies to a wide variety of communications when information is factual in nature or involves matters of established policies, procedures, or standard practices.
  • Enters data into and maintains computer systems or databases.
  • Establishes and maintains office filing systems, files, and records.
  • Schedules work orders, service calls, and other activities for departmental employees.
  • Calculates, collects, and processes application, service, filing, and work order fees.
  • Orders and maintains inventory of office and other departmental supplies and equipment; tracks expenditures; ensures operations of office equipment through County or contracted maintenance services.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Use routine software and business application including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Read and comprehend department and County rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Interpret and apply a variety of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties independently without close supervision.
  • Provide professional customer service to clients and public.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.

Supplemental Information

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
