PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer - Cardiac for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $45.37– $68.44. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Details about the position:

  • -This position will be scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 0800-1830, and there is no call!
  • Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasound equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data. Responsible for initial assessments, summarizing diagnostic data, and communicating this information with diagnostic images to the interpreting physician.
  • Performs most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
  • Records test results, prepares accurate preliminary reports with information appropriate to their scope of practice, and updates patient records for interpreting physician.
  • Uses independent judgment during exam to differentiate, within the scope of their licensure, between normal and pathological findings.
  • Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam.
  • Tailors exam to individual patient and utilizes the most appropriate equipment settings to provide most diagnostic information for interpretation.
  • Performs other duties consistent with caregiver’s scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification.

What you bring:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasound sonography program required or equivalent education and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

  • We are looking for an Adult Cardiac Sonographer (registered or registry eligible).
  • PACS/RIS knowledge is required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI, OR registry eligible.
  • Experience in Vascular is preferred, but not required.
  • New hires/ new grads have one year to obtain ARDMS or CCI registration as an RDCS or RCS. Must maintain active national registry status through accumulation of required CME on a “rolling triennium” basis.
  • Current certification/registration/licensure as required by the State for trained modality.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
