JOB SUMMARY:

Performs highly responsible work in the coordination and monitoring of services related to individuals with Sex Offender convictions. The Forensic Specialist will be responsible for developing relationships and coordinating with probation/parole officers to ensure that the individuals referred to the Forensic Specialist are getting the treatment they need in the community and to identify housing options for them.

• Manages a caseload of 35-40 clients who meet the intake criteria
• Works closely with Parole Officers
• Identifies difficulties within the population and determines corrective action
• Keeping detailed notes on each client on caseload
• Collaborates with the Social Services and Housing team in the planning of transitioning this sensitive population back into society successfully
• Thorough knowledge of recent developments, current literature and sources of information regarding this Criminal Justice population
• Performs related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum - BA, preferably in a human services field at least 2 years’ experience working with individuals who have mental illness and/or histories of substance abuse and homelessness. A Master’s degree in a social services field (Social Work, Psychology or related) can be substituted for the required experience.
