Career Opportunity: Accounting Specialist II

Location: Littleton, MA

Hybrid Schedule: 3-4 days per week on-site

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. 

Position Summary: Workers Federal Credit Union (WCU) has an incredible opportunity for a highly skilled Accounting Specialist II to join our Finance Department. As the Accounting Specialist II you will be responsible for wire transfers, accounts payable, general ledger, securities accounting, regulatory reporting and reconciliations.

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily and month end reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring entries are posted and appropriate documentation is completed in a timely manner.
• Manage daily reconciliation for cash accounts and confirm adequate cash levels are maintained based on expected activity. 
• Perform vendor due diligence on all loan participation partners and reconcile all loan participation balances, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of the quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report, tax reporting, and other regulatory reports.
• Maintains Fixed Asset accounting, ATM balancing, and Shared Branch balancing.
• Oversees daily balancing of shares, loans, and teller totals.
• Assist with projects and implementation of new initiatives, collaborating with project team and department leaders across the Credit Union.
• Assists with various accounting functions such as accounts payable, accruals, prepaids and variance analysis.

What you will need to be successful:

• Three years of experience at a Bank or Credit Union in an accounting or finance role required. 
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP, internal Credit Union policies and procedures, IRS tax reporting related to accounts payable and NCUA rules and regulations pertaining to accounting functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with an advanced excel skillset.
