Job Description - Accounts Receivable Clerk
Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description: As a member of the accounting team, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will provide a diverse range of business services for our Wholesale customers and internal departments. Specific responsibilities outlined below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Post customer orders from multiple sources (pick-ups, customer picks, and truck deliveries).
- Process and apply incoming payments (cash, check, credit card) to customer accounts.
- Reconcile entries made in the A/R system with bank records to ensure accuracy.
- Create debit and credit memos for adjustments to customer accounts, as needed.
- Enter orders and apply payments in our Epicor retail system for True Value.
- Record E-Commerce claim results/payments in Excel, and code deposits.
- Reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits for retail cash drawers and wholesale payments.
- Take bank deposits to the bank on a weekly basis, or as needed.
- Research and resolve customer billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Prepare and send monthly statements to customers.
- Email/Fax invoices for multiple departments and customers.
- Use A/R system reports to monitor customer accounts for non-payment and other irregularities.
- Facilitate payment of overdue accounts by sending bill reminders and contacting customers.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and mail in a professional manner.
- Provide basic accounting support for retail stores including: petty cash, register tape, and paperwork.
- Generate weekly/monthly A/R system reports for Controller.
- Process credit applications and claims for wholesale department.
- Take out and collect mail, sort office mail for distribution.
- Other office support duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience that has prepared you to effectively work as an Accounts Receivable Clerk.
- Computer skills are necessary to be successful in this position, experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
Time Requirements:
- This is a year-round, full time position with a normal schedule
- Overtime work is occasionally necessary during busy seasons (spring in particular).
