At Haleon, the Boiler House Technician is accountable for the daily operation and inspection of the boiler house, which includes boilers, chillers, compressors, and air dryers.

Their responsibilities involve operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers and auxiliary equipment, such as compressors, chillers, dryers, boiler controls (both electric and pneumatic), piping, valves, safety valves, and condensate pumps.

Additionally, they oversee contractor work and provide assistance with engineering projects, ensuring that all relevant documentation is complete and accurate.

In this role, your daily responsibilities may include the following :

Identifying and correcting problems with the boiler house equipment such as boilers, chillers, chilled water and condenser pumps, air compressors, air dryers and cooling towers.

Monitoring building automation systems to ensure proper operation of air handling equipment and room temperatures including start up and shutdown, and normal operating conditions.

Making adjustments as necessary.

Identifying problems and creating work orders for all equipment.

Taking daily chiller and boiler readings, submitting reports as required to meet local and state requirements.

Maintaining and performing Preventative Maintenance schedules, building tours, and minor repairs.

Complying with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.

Performing preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Safely performing functions of the position including following proper company safety guidelines, such as lockout / tagout, confined space, and hot work procedures, and wearing PPE as required.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals

Associates degree, Technical Certificate, or relevant work experience required. (Including Boiler House operation, Electromechanical, or Electronic Engineering Technology, Licensed Plumber, or work experience as a Boiler House Technician.)

Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours upon request.

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus :

Trade certification / license in millwright, instrumentation, or electrical also accepted. Willingness to achieve Boiler certification within 3 years required.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical facility operations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) including validation issues and change control processes.

Experience reading blueprints and schematics.

Ability to organize jobs, order materials, and determine relative priorities.

3 years' experience in pharmaceutical environment

Experience working with cross-functional teams and maintaining accurate, detailed reporting.

Working knowledge of industrial controls systems

Experience with machinery condition monitoring, life assessment, and repair strategies
